Pink Tabebuia – Rosy Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia Rosea)

Buy a plant of Pink Tabebuia tree (specie Tabebuia Rosea). Its flowers are trumpet-shaped with 5 curled petals, 5 – 8 cm long, large and showy in pink color. Its proper scientific name is Tabebuia Rosea and is also known as Rosy Trumpet Tree, Pink Trumpet,  Pink Tecoma.

Pink Tabebuia Rosea starts blooming after reaching the age of 3 years. It won’t bloom in the pot and should be planted in soil for blooming to proceed. Blooming is typically associated with dry weather and usually occurs when the tree has little or no leaves. In Pakistan, blooming occurs during late spring and early summer. Though it may also bloom in early dry autumn right after moonson rains.

Available in 4 different sizes:

• 4′-6′ plant in 5″ cup or plastic bag for Rs. 500. Expect blooming in 3 years
• 6′-8′ plant in 12″ pot for Rs. 2500. Expect blooming in 2-3 years
• 6′-8′ plant in 18″ pot for Rs. 4000. Expect blooming in 1-2 years
• 8′-10′ plant in 22″ pot for Rs. 12000. Immediate blooming after settlement (next flowering season)

Difference in pot size reflects plant age and thickness of main stem. After transplantation, expect minimum delay of 1 year before blooming can be observed irrespective of age. This is due to settlement time in the new environment.
