Royal Empress Tree (Paulownia Tomentosa)

It has large, showy, upright clusters of purple tube-like 1.5-2 inch long fragrant flowers. Pale violet with dark spots and yellow stripes; vanilla scented.

Paulownia leaves are Nitrogen-fixing and naturally fertilize and replenish the soil. The enormous, heart-shaped leaves of a young Empress Splendor tree suck carbon from the air at a tremendous rate and are considered the most efficient trees for sequestering carbon.

Its scientific name is Paulownia Tomentosa. Its other common names include princess tree, empress tree, or foxglove tree. It is a deciduous tree. Another specie in the same family, namely Paulownia Elongata is also available.
